While there are many products and remedies in the marketplace to stop hair loss or regrow hair, it helps to first understand hair loss and growth before making any decisions of the best avenue for you to pursue, because it is possible to regrow your hair naturally. This is not something however that will happen overnight. There are some changes that you will need to make in your life in order to help this process along. Just like anything else in life, if you want to achieve different results, you need to put some work in. But the great news is this is something that has little cost to you and can be done quite easily. Here is a look at some steps to get you started on the right path to help regrow your hair.

1. Make sure you have a balanced diet

While this is good for your overall health and body, this is also good for your scalp. Going on crazy diet programs, or starving yourself or general bad eating habits can cause your hair to miss out on much needed nutrients that it requires for growth and health.

Required daily amounts of B-vitamins and healthy oils that contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are important if you want to have nice healthy hair. It is important to get Omega-3 and Omega-6 from foods because our bodies cannot manufacture them.

Omega-3 can be found in vegetable sources, cold-water fish and other sources. The following is a small list of places you can find it:

  • Canola Oil
  • Soybean Oil
  • Walnuts
  • Beans
  • Salmon
  • Lake Trout

Omega-6 can be found in plant based oils and animal based foods. Some examples of sources for Omega-6 would include:

  • Corn Oil
  • Safflower Oil
  • Sunflower Oil

If you do not use any of the list products, there are also Omega-3 and Omega-6 supplements that are available that you could use instead.

2. Make sure you have a balanced life

Any type of long periods of stress can contribute to hair loss. Stress can come in a variety of forms, whether it be emotional or physical brought on my any numbers of factors that you may be dealing with in your life. It is important you find ways to reduce the stress in your life either through meditation, or exercise or whatever it may be.

3. Make sure you get enough protein

Your hair is made up of almost 91% percent protein. The key amino acid in this is called cysteine. Adding foods to your diet that include cysteine will provide you hair with the protein required to help it grow. Here is a list of the some of the foods to target:

  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Yogurt
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Granola
  • Broccoli

4. Give aromatherapy a try

Using oils every day and massaging them into your scalp is a way to help improve hair growth. Some studies have shown that a fair amount of people saw a significant amount of re-growth in their hair when massaging a mixture of essential oil into a mixture of carrier oils.
